Medicare will pay for a Well Woman Exam every 2 years.
Medicare is not a calendar year plan, so your wellness visits must be 2 years and one day apart.
What does a Well Woman Exam include?
- Breast exam
- Pelvic exam
- PAP smear
When will Medicare begin paying for my Well Woman Exams?
Medicare will pay the first year you are Medicare eligible even if you had a Wellness visit the previous year with another insurance carrier.
Medicare will pay every year for Cervical Cancer Survivors only.
What if Medicare has denied my claim?
Most Medicare supplement plans will not pay if Medicare has denied a claim.
What are my options if I would like to have a Wellness Exam every year?
Self-Pay: We will offer you a discount for your doctor visit, however, the PAP smear is sent to an outside lab and you will receive a bill from them for pathology.
What else does Medicare cover?
Medicare will pay for Office Visits for problems or medication refills—usually subject to deductible, some Medicare Advantage plans have an office visit co-pay
