OBSTETRICS

Obstetrics is a branch of medical science that deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Pregnancy is one of the most important times in a woman’s life. Proper care is vital for the health and successful delivery of your baby. At Parkhill, we have a team of skilled doctors and nurses who build relationships with women from conception to delivery. We will provide the best obstetric services, answering questions and easing your fears so you can focus only on enjoying this amazing journey. Our doctors develop trusting relationships with their patients to ensure that their pregnancy goes smoothly.

ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound scans are safe for both the mother and baby as they use sound waves or echoes to make an image, instead of radiation. Your obstetrician will utilize Ultrasound scans during your routine appointments to evaluate fetal development.

DELIVERY

Parkhill, the Clinic for Women, is proud to deliver and offer extended stay in the Women and Infants Center at Washington Regional Hospital. The first floor of the center is equipped with 13 triage stations and 28 private mother-baby rooms, including 6 antepartum rooms with fetal monitoring capabilities for extended-stay obstetric patients, with fetal monitors and infant warmers.

PRENATAL CARE

Your first appointment at Parkhill consists of meeting with our financial advisor, a dating ultrasound with one of our doctors, meeting with our prenatal nurse, and lab work.

Following routine appointments will be with an obstetrician to check your weight gain, blood pressure and urine. Your obstetrician will also monitor your baby’s heart rate and development.

POST-PREGNANCY CARE

Pregnancy is an amazing adventure and we will be here to take care of you in postpartum period as well! Postpartum is usually defined as delivery through 6-weeks after delivery. At your postpartum visit, you will be able to discuss various concerns with your doctor including breast feeding, contraception, postpartum depression, and many other topics. You will also have a pelvic and breast exam to make sure that your body is recovering well from pregnancy and delivery.

FAMILY PLANNING

Here at Parkhill, we are committed to assisting women with their family planning and pre-conceptual counseling needs. Our doctors are trained experts regarding contraception and reproductive services and will talk through any questions or concerns you might have to find the solution that is best for you.

HIGH-RISK PREGNANCY

At Parkhill, we are equipped and trained to provide top-tier care for high-risk pregnancies. Women with multiple gestation or pre-existing medical conditions are at a higher risk of experiencing complications. We provide personalized care and special delivery techniques for patients in high-risk pregnancy situations.
